To meet Plan Melbourne's 70/30 targets, which call for increased housing delivery in established areas, the demand for 'missing middle' housing has never been more urgent. Join Amy Mak from the Department of Transport and Planning, along with Tim Riley and Tim Richardson from Property Collectives, as they introduce the 'Future Homes' project and deliberative development models. Discover innovative housing approaches led by both the State and residents, redefining traditional housing paradigms.

Growth Areas and Connectivity: sustainable, equitable, and multimodal transport!
Our Growth Area communities tend to be car-dependent and poorly connected to the cities they sit alongside. Dr. Luisiana Paganelli (City of Ballarat) leads participants on a whirlwind tour across global examples of well-connected and liveable Growth Areas, and asks: "How can we make the next generation of Growth Areas the best connected and most liveable in Australia?" Justin O’Meara from the VPA invites feedback and ideas from all!

Getting our act together: an allies yarn to build our community of practice
It’s an important time to consider how as individual planners and as a profession we can strengthen Indigenous voices, knowledge and agency in planning. Members of the PIA Knowledge Circle will host this interactive session to inspire some peer dialogue on delivering change at the individual, systemic and professional level. Let’s shake things up, tackle the tough questions, listen more deeply and step in to support and collaborate with Indigenous colleagues and communities. No prior experience necessary, we are learning together how to be more effective as allies and as planners in our unique Australian context.
