About Us

The NSW Young Planners is your local divisional group for Young Planners (YP), supported by the NSW Division of PIA and the NSW Executive Team. Together, we provide the following opportunities for Young Planners:

Professional Development – Attend forums/seminars on critical planning issues or topical planning projects;

Representation - Contribute to policy submissions;

Networking – Attend networking events to develop new contacts within the profession;

Mentoring – Receive guidance and support from senior members of the planning profession.

Policy

PIA NSW Young Planners have developed a policy and advocacy platform focusing on the issues that most deeply affect young people. The paper explores housing, climate, economy, culture and the role of planning. The platform will guide engagement with and by young planners. Read the YP position paper here

Get Involved

A young planner is a student or graduate of a planning or planning related degree with up to 5 years post graduate experience. To join PIA as a student or graduate member you can apply for membership online or to find out about the benefits of membership click here.

The NSW Young Planners Committee meets once a month.


Sponsorship

The activities of the NSW YPs are not possible without the support of employers and their companies. A range of sponsorship opportunities are available and are an excellent way for an organisation or company to show their support for the NSW YPs.
