Are you currently undertaking your 4th/5th year studies in a Bachelor of Planning qualification at an Australian university and interested in gaining paid work experience to complement your area of study? If yes, then Randwick City Council is currently offering a Student Cadet Planner position as part of the NSW Government's Strong Start Cadetship Program. As the role is part of the Cadetship Program, there is the ability to access up to $25,000 to cover tuition fees incurred while working in the role.
The position is full-time or part-time, and the successful candidate will need to commit to working until completion of the degree consistent with the duration of the degree, and within the full period of internship.
Located in the vibrant Eastern Suburbs with a diverse range of planning projects and land uses, this opportunity will offer the successful candidate a great start to their career through direct involvement in a variety of planning responsibilities and duties. The Student Cadet Planner will gain working experience in Council's Strategic Planning, Development Assessment and Compliance teams for the duration of the role.

Things you will do:
- Assist with the preparation of planning instruments, policies and guidelines.
- Undertake community consultation and engagement.
- Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate reports on planning issues.
- Assist with the preparation, review and amendment of LEPs and DCPs.
- Undertake research on strategic planning, environmental and urban development issues.
- Respond to correspondence, enquiries and complaints.
- Provide the highest level of service to both internal and external customers.
- Act as duty officer as may be required.
- Issue and manage property data, information and planning certificates.
