About the Opportunity
Strathfield Council has an exciting opportunity to join the Planning & Place Team as a Development Assessment Planner on a full-time, permanent basis.
The successful candidate will be undertaking the following roles:
- Supporting the delivery of excellent customer service and planning outcomes through the development assessment functions of the Planning, Place and Development team.
- Supporting the achievement of planning decisions and development outcomes within the Strathfield local government area that support a positive and vibrant future of the community that enhances the existing high standard of amenity, environmental attributes, and sense of place.
- Demonstrating a contemporary approach to statutory planning and problem-solving skills in the assessment and determination of development proposals ranging in scale, complexity and setting.
About You
You have the opportunity to be joining Strathfield Council at an exciting time with the recent restructuring of the Planning and Place team. There is now a dedicated Development Assessment Team which has allowed the refocus of team workloads to ensure clear purpose and direction.
Given the growth pathways ahead of us, you will be a self-motivated individual capable of managing a wide range of development proposals, preparing well-written reports and attending the Council’s Strathfield Local Planning Panel meetings in addition to facilitating input into Council’s planning policies and strategies. You will be a proactive and strong communicator.
