About
Greg Vann and Stephen Yarwood were asked by the PIA National Board to present on “the future planner” with a view to informing training and development required today to better plan for tomorrow.
In this half-day session, you will explore the past, the present and, more importantly, the future of the Planning Profession.
The Planner’s job brief is changing more quickly than ever before and this session will explore contemporary issues and opportunities facing the profession moving forward into an uncertain urban future.
Topics include how smart cities will evolve and what it means for planners, possible and preferred changes in urban spatial dynamics, the future of transport and the critical role of healthy and sustainable cities. The focus is squarely on where the planning profession should be headed and what we can do as an industry to deliver better outcomes.
Planning places is likely to evolve into “enabling people places” and this session is part motivation, part inspiration and part mobilisation…lets not predict the future but create the future we all want to see!
