This course examines the framework for protecting water quality in open drinking water catchments across Victoria. Across a half day program, participants will learn about the Guidelines for Planning permit applications in open, potable water supply catchment areas and the policy that seeks to protect water quality.
Participants will develop an understanding of the relevant factors when making a decision about development in catchments through an examination of VCAT caselaw.

Presenter
Matt Gilbertson has acted for the water authorities in many planning cases involving development in special water supply catchments where the authorities' requirements are regularly contested. He is a senior Associate at Glossop Town Planning and a sessional lecturer and tutor at RMIT University.

If you cannot attend a course for which you are registered, you must cancel your registration no later than 14 days prior to the course. Registrations cancelled more than 14 days prior to the course date will not incur any fees and a full refund will be granted. If you cannot attend and you are within 14 days of the course date, you can transfer your registration to another PLANET course (of the same value) or to another person as a replacement attendee, provided we have at least 48 hours’ notice of your decision to transfer. We cannot issue refunds or credits.
If you do not attend on the day a full fee will be charged.
