The green wedge areas of Victoria accommodate a range of farming, residential and commercial uses and contain many of the state’s significant natural resources such as native vegetation, minerals, and water catchments. They are also areas that provide important resources for recreation, tourism and timber production. Applications within these areas can be highly complex with competing requirements and considerations needing to be balanced in decision making.
This course provides a deep dive into assessment processes and considerations in the Green Wedge Zones.
The course will allow participants to discuss and increase their knowledge and develop confidence for decision-making through practical exercises and facilitation. Participants will gain an understanding about the broader framework of the existing legislative frameworks, practice notes and VCAT decisions which will help guide their decision making.
Designed for
New – Intermediate Town planners (local government and consultants).
