A vocal advocate for Clark, Simon Behrakis has a track record in fighting for the issues that affect the community – building more housing, reducing congestion and growing our economy.

Simon Behrakis was born and raised in Hobart, and currently serves as a member for Clark. He earned his Bachelor of Economics from the University of Tasmania in 2016 and gained invaluable experience in small business management through working in Salamanca Fresh, his family’s business. This hands-on experience has given Simon key insights into the opportunities and challenges that small businesses face, driving his advocacy for policies promoting economic development.

From his time as an Alderman on the Hobart City Council, where he chaired the City Planning Committee, to his current role as Parliamentary Secretary for Housing and Planning, Simon has been passionate in advocating for facilitating development and increasing housing supply to address housing shortages. He is also passionate about issues such as addressing youth crime and advocacy for Tasmanians with ADHD.
